Contract Objective

Commencing in June 2017 through to December 2017 completion, the scope of works included all bulk earthworks, drainiage, ponds and road construction. Processing plant foundations included all insitu concrete for the Mill, CIL tanks, leach and absorption, storage shed slabs, reagents and Power Station infrastructure.

Construction Quantities

350 c/m blinding installed. 3500 sq/m setout of structural formwork installed including false work and supports. 230 tonnes of reinforced steel installed. 2500 cu/m of structural concrete poured. Construction of Power Station and gas concrete foundations including conduits.

Project Achievements

Contracted works completed within revised construction period including additional works. No environmental incidents reported. Four audits completed to 100% compliance. Outstanding safety performance with just one lost time injury from 22-35 personnel onsite and a total of 45,081 man hours.

Project Challenges

Duration for mobilisation to site was just two weeks. The project drawings were issued throughout the construction period with late issuing of drawings by EPC creating a need for interface with multiple contractors.
